Hey guys! What are your thoughts on the Nikkei Index?
It rose over 25% in 3 months. It have a P/E ratio of over 28, dividend yield at 1.6%. I realized that JPY have been enormously depreciating in the span of this 3 months too, but how does that affect the valuation of the nikkei index?
it means returns for any foreign investors is really half of that unless currency was borrowed
Depends on your view of Japan and it's future. If you're bearish Kyle Bass-style, then it's probably just making a short look more and more appealing. If you're bullish, it would probably help confirm your view that Japan is trying to make a turnaround.
