Optiver Grad Equity Analyst Program
Hi all,
Currently in the interview process for Optiver's Grad Equity Analyst Program based in Chicago. Does anyone know what the interview process is like? Do they go deep into the fundamental side like for traditional L/S, any probability/market making games, mix of both? Currently doing my case study for them and kinda confused on how I should be formatting it. Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, the interview process for Optiver's Graduate Equity Analyst Program typically includes several stages:
Initial Screening: This might involve a case study and a technical interview. The case study could test your ability to analyze and present data effectively, while the technical interview may focus on your understanding of equity markets and related concepts.
Technical Assessments: Optiver is known for its rigorous technical evaluations. For example, in other roles, they have included fast-paced math tests (e.g., 80 questions in 8 minutes, all multiple choice). While this may not directly apply to the equity analyst role, you should be prepared for similar high-pressure problem-solving scenarios.
Case Study: The case study is a critical component. While specific details about the format aren't widely shared, it's advisable to focus on clear, logical thinking and structured analysis. Ensure your case study presentation is concise, well-organized, and backed by data. Highlight your ability to synthesize information and provide actionable insights.
Probability/Market Making Games: While the equity analyst role may not focus as heavily on market-making as trading roles, you might encounter probability-based questions or scenarios to test your quantitative and strategic thinking.
Final Rounds: These could include interviews with senior team members, where they assess your fit for the team, motivation, and deeper technical knowledge.
For your case study, consider structuring it as follows: - Introduction: Briefly outline the problem or objective. - Analysis: Present your data, methodology, and key findings. - Conclusion: Summarize your insights and recommendations. - Visuals: Use charts or graphs to make your points clear and impactful.
Good luck with your interview process!
