It requires pre approval from compliance and at some firms a minimum holding period (30, 60, 90 days, etc.)
Usually it’s just single stocks in your sector/coverage that are the issue, not ETFs, Futures, etc.
I know of several banks which do not allow you trade derivatives at all.
