Physical Commodities / HF / Infra PE? Chimp seeking guidance
Normally never do something like this but I'm looking for semi-unbiased opinions. Student here, thought I would go into PE / IB, currently have internship offers, however I'm drawn to the physical commodities space. International background and I find that my edge is with people. I naturally enjoy conversations with others, learning from smarter people than I, and my upbringing has further developed that sentiment. I'm not a math olympiad, though I can hold my own quantitatively. Instead, I more so enjoy discussions, dealing with people and working in the tangible world, hence the commodities interest, or perhaps something like a macro fund (some of my favorite people I've met have been no-bullshit, old-school traders but I really know very little about the HF space, beyond reading "More money than god,"). I don't think I'm a natural fit for quantitive researcher. In fact, if something is incredibly abstract, I find myself less interested. These opinions may change of course, but if anyone has had a similar experience or understands where I'm coming from, any sort of guidance as to what path makes more sense, given my personality would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
