Prop trading - Sophmore at community college in Cali

hey, right now i am a sophomore at a community college in California, but am planning to transfer this coming year. Chances are ill be at a non target (but ranked top 50) or at best a semi-target as a biz econ major. Would it be difficult to get a job as a trader in southern California coming out of a non target? Also, what exactly is prop trading? is it just day trading? just trying to get info thanks

Do they even have trading in Cali? Most of the traders here get in at 6:30 to prepare for when the market opens... you'd have to be in the office at 3:30.
