PubFin IB or Fixed Income S&T

As the title says, I am currently in a situation where I have the option of either going into PubFin IB or Fixed Income S&T. Longterm, I would like to work in more traditional roles such as M&A/coverage/levfin.

Does anyone have any insights on which one would be easier to pivot out into traditional IB? Any input or personal experience would be appreciated.

What kind of deals does the bank work on/what size bank?

I'd go PubFin, but if it's a boutique pubfin firm that works on $10mm K-12 AA deals vs a top FI desk then I'd change my mind.

PubFin can easily lateral to DCM (same thing just for corporates) as well as other groups, but it's more difficult
