RBC QSG/GAT - has anyone heard of it? How would you rank it?

I just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about RBC's QSG / GAT and get everyone's opinions on the relative ranking of a few groups.

My understanding is that QSG is the prop trading division at RBC. RBC's QSG is one of the biggest prop-trading teams at any bank in NY with 25 traders.

I'm specifically looking for a quantitative trading role and I'd prefer to be in NY.

How does this list look? 1. High-tier NY Props 2. High-tier Chicago Props 3. High-tier Hedge Funds 4. RBC QSG (Prop Trading Division, used to be called GAT) 5. Mid-tier Chicago Props 6. BB Sales and Trading

I honestly have no idea where to rank QSG because I can't find any information about it.

Do you think QSG should be lower than S+T at most BB? I felt inclined to rank it higher because it seems to have a better culture (ie. not a traditional bank feeling; tries to be like a shop) with the same / slightly better comp, but I don't really know.

god these questions are so fucking stupid. It's a global arbitrage group at a massive investment bank trading hundreds of millions of dollars. yes it's very good and yes you need experience.

Completely agree with you. it's been rated the safest bank in North America earlier this year by Global Finance magazine.
