Reaching out to traders on Linkedin?
I've been at my first job in the power industry for about half a year now, and as I get more responsibilities my manager has given me flexibility in which areas of work I am involved in. I want to break into power trading in the future and I'm not sure which of these areas of work would be most valuable/relevant.
Is it weird to reach out to traders in the industry in LinkedIn with questions about the type of experience they like to see in their teams? I feel like I have a ton of non-standard questions about the industry, and for the electric power industry there is basically little to no guidance to breaking in. I wouldn't actually ask for a referral or anything, as I think it would be valuable for me to stay in my role for ~2 years. Any tips on framing this in a msg?
