SA27 S&T Timeline: Still hope?

Hey all, I came across this blog by wallstreetguide.com that showed this timeline (not promoting):

Wallstreetguide.com

Is this accurate, and does this mean hope for non-quant roles, FO roles?

I saw Citi S&T and a few other roles were recently posted but idk if these were re openings for unfilled spots or not. Please advise.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the recruitment timeline for Sales & Trading (S&T) roles can vary significantly depending on the bank and region. However, for Summer Analyst (SA) positions, most front-office (FO) roles, including non-quant positions, typically follow a structured timeline:

  1. Early Recruitment: Many banks begin their recruitment process as early as the summer before the internship year, with applications opening in July or August.
  2. Interviews: First-round and superday interviews often occur between August and October.
  3. Offers: Most offers are extended by late fall, typically by November.

That said, there are instances where roles are reposted or reopened due to unfilled spots or candidates declining offers. This could explain why you're seeing recent postings for Citi S&T and other roles. These could indeed be opportunities for non-quant FO roles, but competition will likely remain high.

If you're still interested, here’s what you can do: - Apply Immediately: If the roles are open, submit your application as soon as possible. - Network Aggressively: Reach out to alumni or professionals in S&T at the firms you're targeting. Networking can sometimes help you bypass the traditional application process. - Prepare for Interviews: Focus on technical skills, market knowledge, and behavioral questions. Tailor your preparation to the specific desk or product you're interested in.

While the timeline may be nearing its end, there’s still hope if these postings are indeed for unfilled spots. Take action quickly and strategically!
