Sales and Trading Exit Opps

I thought I would just get a post going discussing exit opps for S&T. I know it is commonly said that they aren't nearly as good as IB. However, I'm just curious what are some potential opportunities that I should look into. Thanks.

I'm an incoming Analyst so I don't know the lay of the land as well as some others. But If you're coming from a quantitative background I'd imagine tech being a fairly natural exit op should you want to leave.

For the trading side, especially macro its a natural transition to macro hedge funds or multi-manager HFs such as millennium and citadel. You see a lot transition after 3 years of a very good track record or alternatively moving across later as a PM at director and above level. I would say credit trading also has good HF exit opps too.

Not necessarily an “exit opp” but quite a few traders leave and do their own start-up. A lot of skills that make a good trader are actually quite synonymous with the skills required to be a startup founder.

Sales naturally have a very wide set of exit opportunities, anywhere they can use their ability to sell. Investor relations as well as tech are common destinations.
