Sales and Trading in Hong Kong - Prospects and Exit opps

I've seen a lot of posts on US-based S&T roles but being in Hong Kong, I'm sure many of us have wondered exactly how applicable those forums are to us.

For those checking in Globally, the US side is more prosperous.  In APAC we have a wider plethora of banks to work in: US, EU and Chinese banks all in one spot albeit at smaller scale.  In every case, comparable positions are ranked by pay, experience, work culture this way: US > EU > Chinese Banks.  I know Chinese banks have entities in US and EU, but they are for sure are bigger in HK.

The entry barrier essentially follows the same priority, so many (like myself) would get their foot in through a Chinese Bank's offshore entity.  I've seen some move to Foreign Banks after a few years but many others tend to switch around the Chinese offshores.

Being in a top tier Chinese bank as a sales myself, which roughly translates to MM, what kind of pay would I be expecting a few years down the line?  How likely are the moves to Foreign Banks/Buyside?  Do HK funds look at Chinese Banks?

Any S&T veterns who know the HK landscape - would love to hear what you've seen.  Thanks.
