S&T Cash Equity floor dead end?

Hi, going to keep it short & sweet

Currently in college, looking at breaking into s&t. Very passionate ab public capital markets. Been trading equities & equity derivs last 6 years very actively. Been able to generate significant alpha. Not looking to enter prop bc I'm not really into cs whatsoever, rather I'm much more interested in the social aspect that s&t offers.

Wondering if it's stupid to try to enter into a cash equity floor in s&t at a bb. Worried that job security/comp will be lackluster in comparison to the derivatives desk.

Any advice? Is Cash Equity s&t dead?
