S&T SA Recruiting Question- What to Do Junior Fall

I am a rising junior planning to apply to S&T SA positions next year.

Next semester I'm enrolled in a numerical methods class in the MA in math finance program at our school. The course involves projects such as monte carlo pricing of exotic derivatives, backtesting structured products, etc. in c/c++.

However, the course promises to be very time-intensive and I was wondering if my time would be better spent on another internship during the semester (junior fall semester internships are quite common at my school). I probably won't have time for both.

I do have an internship this summer at a hedge fund, but it's nothing eye-popping- many of my classmates have similar or better experience.

The work I'll be doing for the class is much more exciting and "legit" than the type of work I'll most likely be doing at an internship, but is work experience still more valuable than a class?

Which would be more attractive for SA S&T recruiting? Thanks in advance.

do what you think you would enjoy more and get the best experience out of. you will already have work experience on your resume, so adding a non-big name fall internship that wont give you interesting work is just a waste of space. if you get to do cool shit and learn a lot more in this class, then go for it. if you write your resume well and network you will get interviews regardless. good luck man
