S&T semi ding?

Hi everyone,

I'm an college senior studying at a non target in the US. I applied to a FT S&T position at a UK BB. Received interviews, and they went very well. However b/c I don't have exact relevant s&t experience, my interviewers and hr thought I would be a good fit for their SA program. Which is completely fine by me, however they want to fly me out to be apart of the final assessment center . Is this common?

The time frame will probably coincide with my final exam schedule and I'm also a varsity athlete with 9 practices/ week+ competitions. I have to risk a lot to fly out to London, do you think my chances are good if they're willing to make the expense?

Yeah, if you're scared about your GPA, it doesn't matter after your first job. Ask for a couple of makeup exams just for the heck of it, but if they say no, just go get the job. Thats awesome, I wish I was going.

They're flying you out to hire you.

9 practices a week huh? Might want to talk to compliance and get your coach fired, doesn't sound legal.

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

Get on the plane. Piccadilly from Heathrow to Oxford Strett, change to Central line, change to DLR at Bank (take train towards woolwich arsenal), stop Canary Wharf.

Btw I go to a UK target and have a few offers from UK BB's- be ready for a weird thing in the british assessment centre- prepare for the group projects, pitching, case studies and other bullshit. This is not your typical 4 interview superday. Also, dont be overly formal in your face to face interviews, most s&t people here like a character and the straight-laced wall street vibe is not valued so much.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

p.s. I was a D1 varsity athlete in undergrad, I understand how hard it is to get away. Just tell your coach you have to go and do it. In a year you'll look back and be like 'Wow, I cant believe I even hesitated"

Knock em dead.

well.. Woolwich Arsenal train does not stop at Canary Wharf. The Lewisham one does. Even then, Victoria to Green Park and then Jubilee to Canary Wharf sounds like a decent option, unless of course its GS or UBS and they are not in CW.

Where is your "S&T people here"?

6 days a week + 3 weight sessions, as long as it doesnt exceed 20 hours of mandatory attendance training it is permissible. I did it for 4 effing years, and check the rules on it haha.

The point of school is to get a job. You've got the job in front of you if they're paying money to fly you out. Snatch it! Withdraw if necessary.
