Suggestions for Breaking into Trade Support

I’m an experienced professional with 10 years in healthcare IT, doing support engineering at both large enterprises (10k+ employees) and startups (19–80 people).

I’d like to transition into trade support engineering because I enjoy working on business-critical systems and think my skills translate well. My background includes debugging/writing code, reviewing logs, building automation scripts, SQL, and direct customer support.

I’ve applied to ~20 positions (even some junior roles) and haven’t landed an interview yet. I’ve tried networking on LinkedIn; I had 1 informational interview, while a couple of other leads fizzled out. There also seems to be minimal people on LinkedIn who are trade support engineers.

What’s the best way to break into trade support? Do hiring managers in this space expect specific domain knowledge up front, or can technical skills carry you in? Do I just need to keep applying and crossing my fingers? Any tips on how to make my resume more appealing for this field would be hugely appreciated.
