... are ex-wall-streets types - i also know of a couple of people who moved from gse-land to wall-street fairly easily ... smart people in general, with just a different lifestyle/payoff choice.
I thought S&T had a pretty nice lifestyle even on wall street. Would the pay be a lot less? Whats gse land...sorry I'm a n00b.
I ask because I want to get into trading and someone left for there after working for 1 year where I am going to be working. So Im trying to get a feel for the exit options I may have.

Is internal audit at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac a good start for new grad? (Originally Posted: 03/13/2016)
Hi,
I have been hearing that internal audit is often the dead end for the accounting profession. Fannie Mae claims that they will use internal audit as a pipeline for talent, and their staff turnover seems pretty high. People there are generally smart, and a big portion of the associates and managers are from the big 4. I've heard that internal audit is for people who want to settle down, and offer little potential for grow. So I am just wondering if internal audit at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac would be a good start for new grad? According to glassdoor, they pay decent start salary for new grad though, but I don't know about the potential of raise.
Any input here will be greatly appreciated!

Generally, the thumb of rule is to do this research on google before ask people. In fact, I did quite a lot of researching, but it seems not many information is available online
Just running across your answer so not sure if it's too late at this point but figured I would comment. I used to interact with IA pretty frequently here. I think it would be a good place to get a foot in the door, stay a few years to get experience, and then look into other opportunities here. I'll be honest, there were very few times I was impressed with the IA folks I dealt with but that's not to say I didn't run across some good ones there. I did hear there was a high turnover in that area. Good luck!
