Contrarian, the most overused and under-utilised phrase in the markets.

You can pound a pig in the ass but it won't shit gold.

"Sell in May and go away." "The trend is your friend."

Most of them have already been mentioned. Some other cliches:

"Buy high, sell higher." "Losers average losses." "The market is always right."

"Markets can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent" -Keynes

One of my favorites, and something you should always keep in mind.

"Buy the fucking dip."

"You're only as good as your last trade."
