Trading Internship - Engineering student in Montreal

Hey guys and girls, quick question:

What do trading internships consist of exactly? I'm an Engineering student in Montreal and am interested in trading. I've been trading my own account for a couple of years.

Which firms hire for summer trading internships? Should i go to the big 4, or boutique firms?

Thanks for your help,

Pitbul

All the big banks in Canada hire S&T summer interns, and they look for quants (Waterloo is a big feeder, but I'm sure high GPA at McGill Engineering would do). Those should be first on your list. Broaden horizons to include Equity Research as well.

Canaccord Genuity should be next, although a tight ship and not sure how many interns they hire.

Not too sure about the boutique landscape in Canada, but I am sure there are some energy-focused trading places that would be pretty cool experiences.

CFT Financial (Ex-Refco commodities prop) is based in MTL. Look into them too.
