Trading Internship / SnT: GS HK vs MS LDN

Looking for quantitative products that allow for semi-systematic strategies. Interested in macro, as well as commodities. Have to admit that starting pay in HK is likely 40-50% more than in London considering low taxes and sponsored accommodation.

Both programmes are rotational, likely 3x3week rotations.

Which is the better choice?

OP, this is very true - return rate for the 2025 S&T summer class in London was something like 15-18 returns out of 40-45 interns

Indeed

thanks, the programmes are both rotational, likely 3x 3 weeks (this is the case for MS, likely the case for GS). Is this enough to learn & contribute substantially to the desk (ie code up a simple project for them)? If so, should I pick GS HK over MS LDN?

GS HK is also like that. Should network hard to get placement in good desks. THat said, S&T, especially rotational interns it's not really a chance to contribute substantially to the desk. It's all about getting to understand the business, so you need to network hard in the trading floor. Although 3 rotations meaning 3 projects -> should use ur time wisely.

Regardless if you don't find any difficulty living in HK, I would pick GS, given ur goal.
