Trading Support Analyst Excel VBA requirement

What kind a skill set in Excel and VBA is required for trading support analyst?

Are there any functions in Excel that are heavily used? Also any methods in VBA that an analyst should be aware of?

it definitely helps on a trading desk as well as in a trade support capacity. you are dealing with a lot of spreadsheets and data manipulation so its an added bonus to be able to automate some of it. plus being able to troubleshoot the sheets is a huge advantage over someone who cannot.

Sounds like you you should be able to read through the codes and understand whats going on.

I know how objects interact with each other on VBA and I have some experience of automating processes from my internship. I can definitly write macros in VBA, work with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and do Pivot Tables.

Anything specific that I should brush up on?

Focus on looping. It's one of the most powerful programming techniques. A loop (or For Next loop) in Excel VBA enables you to loop through a range of data with just a few lines of code.

I have an interview in a similar role. I'm pretty good at VB but I really have no idea what they would test. Are there some sort of statistical implementations I should study, or what?
