Wetting my beak

Hey guys,

I'm currently in banking and have some funny money I want to fool around with. I want to diversify myself and get into something intellectually stimulating that isn't investment banking. A buddy of mine said I should look into forex trading to get a good macroeconomic view, but I've been reading that it isn't that profitable even with lots of leverage. What do you guys think? I've thought about options but I am really looking for something I can really sink my teeth into and make some money (doesn't have to be market related). Any opinions would be appreciated!
