I'm a little biased towards brazilian stocks since I have lived there for a while and was very impressed. the bovespa has performed very well in the last 3-4 years i would say, but in my opinion still worth a look. my favourites are Petrobras (PBR) and Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) for the long-term. from what I can tell they have good management and also have business outside of brazil.

Blackstone - that is, if you're looking for a security that the public markets will overprice for no legitimate reason. I love the discussions about private equity "selling out" when the Blackstone IPO is mentioned; it seems that people fail to grasp the IPO's actual intent: to create liquidity for the most senior Blackstone partners as part of a succession plan in handing the reigns over to more junior partners at the firm. Had KKR done this years back (and I'm not referencing the European offering they did last summer, which was a completely seperate fund that has yet to make any materials investments) they wouldn't have lost 4 of their star partners in the past 18 months.

PRAA -- did an acquisition valuation of it last week, it's about 15% undervalued assuming minimal future growth (which is below mgmt guidance). That, and it's a collection agency, so in a business cycle heading towards contraction (not to mention negative savings rate) they'll be operating a full potential, very little waste.

I could say more, but ....why?
