If you apply be prepared for extensive interviews (and tests). Also not sure that they are struggling and I wouldn't think 80k is accurate (depending on role of course).

Their recruitment process is stupid. I applied a few years ago and sent in an awesome C# program, they couldn't figure out how to compile it. I sent in a compiled version, and their spam blocker blocked it. Classic idiot run shop.

Typical lame Chicago prop shop. Stay away from it. The only Chicago prop shops worth working for are Getco/kcg, jump, and drw, but even those guys are struggling now. The glory era of prop trading is over.

Struggling? OCR at my school was great (semi target) for DRW's FT and internships. Optiver is also doing pretty well. Why do you waste your time spreading misinformation when you could be jacking off to a picture of Wharton or HBS?

Optiver is not doing well. Of course you think they're doing well because you're a naive college kid who believes everything the company says at career fair. Give me a break, kid. Two of my friends traded at Optiver during their glory years (2005-2009) and made enough money to semi-retire before age 30. They all quit because the firm is terribly run and the opportunity isn't there anymore. I talked to one recent employee who quit to go into big 4 accounting because things have gotten so bad.

DRW is still solid.

Your friend circle = representative sample of whole firm. Gotcha. I thought MBAs had to take basic stats?

I'm a recent grad and I happen to know people as well. I admit I'm going off hearsay which is something you probably should admit to as well.

Bumping this, as I am curious as well. Their recruiter contacted me, and after filling out their application, they said they would be administering a 12 minute, 50 question test. They said have pen and paper ready. I tried searching for them but there is virtually no information about them or their interviews on the web
