Breaking into VC with an MPH degree?
Hey guys, I got one more year to go at columbia's masters public health program. im currently an analyst as well working in equity research. do any VCs recruit mph degree holders for use in their medical-related analyst positions?
anyone had experiences with this?
I don't have any exp with vc, but I highly doubt they target mph people specifically. A masters in public health by itself isn't really technical enough to be an added benefit to a vc firm. A lot of people working at these firms have engineering/science graduate degrees. I would say your best bet is to try to get into an IB or ER healthcare/biotech group and leverage that exp into a vc job.
u might have a chance at PE or IB. your best bet would be to go into a well known HC group at an IB. im assuming u covered some sort of healthcare sector in ER?
