Probably too late to open such topic, but now I am really desperate as I was dinged after the 2nd round McKinsey interview and haven't been invited anywhere else.
I have a really strong and interesting profile, but non-target university + I am an international student with no network in US...
Don't know what to do now.Going back home is not an option, but on the other hand I almost have no time to find a normal consulting job...I also did two internships in venture capital while studying, but that field is even harder to break into.
Any advice is appreciated.

If you got an interview at McKinsey, then you must have a great profile. Don't think anything is too low for you, so make sure to apply to all of the lower tier firms. Also, are you a senior in undergrad? If so, I'd say pick up another major or get a masters so you can have another year to try again.
