Gateway from VC

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I enter VC fresh out of college, what future opportunities would there be? (e.g., going into industry/AM...)

Additionally, how does VC play a role going into finance generally speaking, if getting corp fin/PE/IB not possible?

Cheers

I have been in a few VC and CVC units, I don't think VC roles are generally entry level roles straight out of college. There are exceptions and I have seen that also (there are analyst positions within VC) - but bear in mind that there are far fewer VC units than IB, and that these are fairly small operations.

It is an interesting area to work in, but I would also argue that a professional fresh out of college can learn a lot more in a BB. Larger deals, more complex, more to learn/rotate through, etc

Depends on the firm. With the exception of maybe 3-4 venture/growth shops, I don't think it's a smart decision to go directly into venture. Work at a startup and get some operating experience, or do 2 years of IB/consulting before pivoting.
