Growth Equity / PE Analyst right out of undergrad or Consulting, location difference

Hi all, senior at a semi-target and received a couple offers, one in growth equity in a direct Investment seat and one in t2 consulting (ie Deloitte, LEK, Kearney etc...). The thing is, I really want to break into PE / Growth Equity for the long term and love the role @ the investment firm (fund has had top quartile returns and is rapidly growing, mostly doing tech investments), esp since it's not entirely sourcing based (50/50 sourcing/execution). But the consulting gig is in NY and the PE seat is in a mid-sized US city, so I'm not sure if I'd be making the wrong choice by going with the latter.

Would love any to hear any thoughts you all might have on this...

[EDIT: Location is probably the factor here I'm most concerned about. PE shop is in a mid-sized US city I'm not too familiar with, plus with COVID there are a few complications around visiting/exploring the area. Consulting gig is in NYC which I know a little better & might provide better networking/social opportunities].
