growth fund vs VC (life, pay, culture)

I'm currently doing a SA and hate my fucking life. However, this experience made me realize that I DON'T want to do banking. I'm currently interested in VC and growth equity not only because the firms much sexier but I also enjoy the sourcing process (e.g. cold calling, networking, conferences, warm calling firm contacts, etc.). And because I'm living in continental Europe it's actually possible to start there after uni.

But I have some questions in regard to VC vs. Growth Equity:

  1. Amount of grunt work
  2. Hours
  3. Pay
  4. Culture (suit vs t-shirt etc.)
  5. Career development (e.g. how likely to become partner etc.)
