How much of the pie should I ask for?
Hey monkeys, I've spent the last 5 years in growth equity and middle market PE. I've recently had an offer to join a pre-revenue SaaS start up to serve as their CSO/CFO. I've done some work for them in the past and they awarded me a 2% equity stake for it. I have the ability to design my own comp package and I'm wondering what I should write for the equity component. The company has only raised a friends and family round and the founder has ~90% of the cap table. I have a number in mind but I want to see what the group thinks to avoid potential anchoring. What portion of equity should I ask for if I take the CSO/CFO role?
