I'm hiring (another) VC Associate

Role is about 50% sourcing / 50% DD.

The sourcing component calls for someone with a network of startups / VCs and the ability to grind through outreach. The DD component calls for a good understanding of tech, accounting, finance and the ability to think both conceptually and analytically.

Required: Looking for someone who has worked for VCs before (though tech focused IB/HF/PE backgrounds will be considered).

Bonuses: sales (outreach), coding, startup XP, legal (transnational), CPA, CFA, MBA

I'm paying $100K base + $100K in bonuses.

Job is in LA.

PM me.

i have none of the pre-requisites...however, i worked long hours as an assistant coach for a small college basketball team (you've never heard of the school) doing recruiting and student-athlete training. I did my undergad in business mgmt and admin, and i'm interested in the position.

i know my background may not be typical, but i'm a hard worker, looking to get back into the finance career track. may i PM you?

Since we have some candidates with the pre-reqs we will probably take someone who does fit the profile we are looking for.

If you're looking to get into finance without relevant work XP then an MBA might be a good fit for you. You're also going to have to network like crazy because you're going to be competing with people who have finance work XP as well as an MBA. It's an uphill battle but if you're really determined its possible. You might want to check https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/wall-street-oasis-2/e/66507586</a">WSO podcast 69 about a guy who broke into a Hedge Fund after being a classical musician (tl;dr - he got his CFA and got a mentor who eventually hired him).

You might also consider a program like Venture University, which is kind of like a condensed MBA targeted at VC (we just hired someone out of there) - its a 3 month program and costs $30K - the commitment is much smaller than an MBA but you can't really use it for other finance careers like you can an MBA. For this reason it's also probably much riskier - I'm not really sure what their placement success rate is but it can't be very high given how few jobs there are in VC.

You're welcome to PM me if you have more question.

Hope that helps, good luck.
