Industry Ventures Info

Hey all, curious to hear people's general consensus on the firm since not too much info has come up for them. Currently a second year analyst looking into potential vc opportunities and saw that they have around 7bn aum with 4 different investing strategies which seems super interesting. Would love to hear info on comp package as well. Thanks!

Based on the highest ranked content on WSO, Industry Ventures is a reputable firm with a significant presence in the venture capital space. With around $7 billion in assets under management and a diverse set of investing strategies, they offer a dynamic environment that could be quite appealing to someone with a couple of years of analyst experience.

When it comes to compensation packages at venture capital firms like Industry Ventures, they can vary widely and are often a combination of salary, bonus, and sometimes carry (a share of the profits from investments). The specifics can depend on the firm's structure, the fund size, and the individual's role within the firm. For a second-year analyst moving into VC, the compensation might be a step up from your current position, but the long-term financial rewards in VC often come from the carry component, which typically vests over several years.

If you're considering a move, it's also important to think about the non-monetary aspects such as the firm's culture, the potential for professional growth, and the types of companies they invest in. Networking with current or past employees of Industry Ventures and asking about their experiences could provide valuable insights into what it's like to work there and help inform your decision.
