Is a venture capital internship good for IB?
I'm lucky to have secured an internship at an established VC firm during my final year of university. I get to work on some exciting deals, and make a real contribution. My duties include due diligence on startups and the technology sector, financial statement analysis, assisting in capital raises, IPOs, and currently building a financial model for a deal I've been entrusted to handle (obviously with supervision).
My question is, is this experience look upon favorably when looking for FT roles at IBs? Am I seen as having more, less, or equal experience compared to others with SA positions at IBs? I love VC and the work they do, but I would still love to dabble my hand in some IB experience. And yes, I'm well aware of buy side vs sell side crap, but that matters very little to me.
Bump.
Bump.
Last bump I swear.
Nothing is as good as being a summer analyst and getting your return offer right away but as far as non-banking internships go this sounds very good.
