Mayfield (VC) vs Advent (PE)

Hi,

I am considering offers from Mayfield, a vc firm and Advent International (pe). Any views on how these will stack up for a pre-mba stint, with a us business school in mind?

Both give you a legit shop in top b schools (VC tends to be favored for some reasons) so it all comes down to what you want to do in the future. Entrepreneurs or more mature companies?

Appreciate the response.

Is shifting from vc to pe post an mba going to be a challenge? Do you get boxed in based on your prior experience?

JUst for context, the role at mf is going to be more growth-like across industries than classic vc (tech/internet/ cleantech).
