Moving from Growth / Growth Buyout to VC

I have been in growth equity / growth buyout for 3 years now and am up for senior associate promote, but have found that I have an affinity towards earlier stage investing. I had the opportunity to work on one of the earliest stage deals my firm has done in the last few years and enjoyed the process and work a lot more. Know this can be a hot take, but I also do actually like sourcing and think that is one of my biggest strengths. I have been fortunate enough to source 3 deals for my firm during my time here and enjoy building my network and being creative around breaking into the most interesting companies.

All of this to say, I am heavily considering making the switch to traditional VC (Series A - Series C). Would be great to hear about folks experience who have made this transition. Do you regret it? Do you feel like it was the right choice? I know comp will be lower but that's honestly not an issue for me

Sorry no input from me - however I have a question for you: How did you get into the GE space? I mean in GE there are two sides, either the GE (more like Venture Deals) and GE Buyout (more PE like). What has your experiece been like so far, why did you decide to get into GE? I  guess you are in GE buyout - whats the difference to PE? I am at a top BB (GS, MS, JP) and would love to switch to GE
