need suggestions on what I can offer to VC

I am looking for a part-time position for small VC firms, unpaid though. So last Friday, I had a breakfast with a VP at a small healthcare VC. In the end, he told me he couldn't come up any position for me at this moment, and he will have a discussion with his boss to see if there is any opportunities.

I do not want to just sit and wait for the opportunity. I want to be proactive and think about anything I can offer them and maybe create the opportunity for myself. But I have thought about it over the weekend, and could not come up any. The main reason is because I do not know how it was like working for VC or what VC needs that I can offer them. So I came here to see if any of you will be kind to give me some suggestions. I appreciate anything you shoot here.

Some info of this VC firm:
They invested in materials, drug, medical device and healthcare IT areas. According to the VP, the firm does not proactively seek for companies to invest. They either receive the business plan directly from the companies or get the reference from other VC firms (most of time, those referred companies are in the portfolios of those "other VC firms").

Thanks again guys!

Thank you for the input, VC_associate! You are right. It is a very small VC firm, with only 10 portfolio companies. Can you explain the thesis to me a little bit? And what is the purpose of putting together a thesis? I am not quite familiar with the work at VC. Thanks again.

sorry for the confusion. I meant I know about VC, but do not know about the work details, like how the work gets done by people at VC. I only have due diligence experience, and want to learn more about the work at VC besides of due diligence work. That is the reason I offer them some unpaid part-time/intern work.

For example, I have 3 years research experience on industrial R&D projects. But I never worked for R&D in industry before and do not know how the work there looks like. So some people will get an internship at R&D to learn about it before applying for full-time position.
