Possible to go from Top VC to HF / PE?

Approaching the offer stage for a top VC in London (Sequoia / Balderton / Accel etc), having completed a couple of years in IBD at a top Elite Boutique (EVR/CVP/PJT).

I'd like to ask if it is a precedented path to go from top VC to a top HF / PE firm, possibly with the benefit of an MBA. I would very much like to be involved in public markets in the future but would also like the adventure of a couple years in VC (Series A / B)

I sort of envision myself doing the CFA / trading stocks and reading a bunch of investment books given the unlocked time I suspect this new role will provide me. Understand that this question has been asked before but is normally from the perspective of one with no previous finance work experience and normally at a more dodgy fund

Approaching the offer stage

Been down this road a million times. Get the offer first. Anyway, VC doesn't often exit to PE / HF so would not take this job if you are 100% set you want to do one of those two. It's possible given your background but without ASO years in PE unlikely you get back as you would be due up for VP level unless you want to redo your Associate years.

Not the best mentality for success... these are big boy firms, I would give 100% there.

Really? EBs generally don't recruit that well in Europe, especially considering that they are generalists. I would expect recruiters to target people from GS / MS / JPM as they place much better in Europe. Would also expect them to specifically target TMT teams. Glad to hear that I was wrong.

Actually quite a lot of European VCs have people from EBs (Index, Aatomico, Hedosophia, Felix, Highland, Lakestar, Kinnevik, etc), although I am not sure how many of them went thru the HH channel.
