Possible to go MM LevFin --> Growth Equity/Venture?

Recently accepted a FT spot with a top MM LevFin group in SF. I wasn't a SA in banking so had to recruit FT out of a FoF junior internship, so was happy to be able to place into banking where I ended up. While I am not opposed to an LBO shop after my 2 years stint, I would love to place into growth equity (and maybe even venture). That being said, any tips on how to navigate that process, craft the story, rationalize the group placement, etc. Will I need to get some tech exposure before I can competitively place into the earlier stage stuff? Thanks in advance for all of the help!
