I know this topic has been discussed in a similar dynamic but my difference is the more non-traditional background.
I'll be attending an M7 school this fall, not HSW. I have a consumer goods background in brand management. However post MBA I'm curious to make that switch to either HF/PE/VC/IBD/MC.
It's kind of unfair to list 5 industries, but I just want to know what my chances are.
My research so far tells me:
HF: Fairly impossible, they look for IBD backgrounds PE: Next to impossible, they look for PE or IBD backgrounds VC: More flexible, but still fairlydifficult, they look for IBD/MC backgrounds IBD: Possible, a lot of career switchers MC: Possible, a lot of career switchers
Does anyone have any insight? Am I wrong in the above? Is there a chance for me to land HF/PE/VC?
