Based on the most helpful WSO content, while there isn't specific information about Stepstone's VC and Growth Equity interview process in the provided context, here are some general insights into what you can expect for interviews in growth equity and VC roles:

  1. Fit and Behavioral Questions:

    • Be prepared to articulate why you are interested in growth equity versus other areas like buyouts or traditional VC.
    • Demonstrate genuine passion for technology, startups, and growth-stage companies.
    • Highlight relevant experiences that showcase your ability to source deals, analyze markets, or evaluate companies.
  2. Technical and Financial Questions:

    • Expect questions on financial modeling, valuation techniques, and understanding of key metrics for growth-stage companies (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV).
    • Be ready to discuss how you would evaluate a company's growth potential and market dynamics.
  3. Firm-Specific Preparation:

    • Research Stepstone's portfolio and understand their investment focus. Know a few of their portfolio companies, their funding history, and the competitive landscape.
    • Be able to discuss how Stepstone's investment criteria align with your skills and interests.
  4. Case Studies and Market Analysis:

    • You might be asked to analyze a hypothetical company or market and present your findings.
    • Be prepared to evaluate a company's go-to-market strategy, competitive positioning, and scalability.
  5. Sourcing and Deal Evaluation:

    • Some growth equity roles involve sourcing responsibilities. Be ready to discuss how you would identify and approach potential investment opportunities.

If you're serious about applying, focus on building a strong understanding of growth equity fundamentals, Stepstone's investment strategy, and the broader VC landscape. Good luck!

Straight dogshit. Worked there over the summer and 90% of ppl were ft recruiting. Nice enough people, but pay super below market and it’s almost 100% secondaries. No direct investments unless  it’s LP-led co-invest
