Top VC in NYC or MF PE in Asia?
Hi all would you rather take an offer from a top VC (Sequoia/Horowitz) in NYC or a local PE MF (Hony/Boyu/Barings) in Asia?

I’d take the VC role for better quality of life, better brand, and frankly a more interesting/exciting stage of investing. The names you mentioned for the “local” MF in Asia is great, but not as good as a16z, Sequoia & I’m almost certain won’t pay as good as US funds + have significantly worse WLB. You’d walk out of a 2-3 year stint at a16z w/ possibly a handful of great deals / investments in interesting next-Gen companies vs MFPE in asia with maybe 1-2 platform investments & some tuck-ins in some lesser known APAC companies.
Regardless, congrats on the role and you’re in great shape taking either.
The local MFPE names you mentioned are very different though. Boyu is top notch with great pay in Asia, but ppl are very busy.
