VC Interview Case Study Time Frame

Hi all,

This was my first time giving a VC interview, and for the second round, they gave me a case study where I had to do research and provide a presentation. However, they said the timeline and format are up to me when I present. I know I want to give a PowerPoint presentation, but when should I set the interview for?

Should it be one week from today? I am asking because I don't want to seem to be taking too long and because I don't know their time frame. This is all new to me. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights for scheduling your VC interview case study presentation:

  1. Timeline Considerations:

    • One Week: Setting the interview for one week from today (Tuesday, September 24th, 2024) is generally a good idea. It shows that you are prompt and can work efficiently under a tight deadline, which is often valued in VC roles.
    • Avoid Thursdays and Fridays: Most business people travel on Thursdays, and Friday meetings are often too late in the week. Therefore, aim to schedule your presentation on a Monday or Wednesday.
  2. Presentation Format:

    • PowerPoint: Since you have decided on a PowerPoint presentation, ensure it is concise, well-structured, and addresses all key points. Make sure to include logical thinking, math ability, and insightfulness, as these are often assessed in case studies.
  3. Preparation Tips:

    • Research Thoroughly: Conduct comprehensive research on the topic provided. Use reliable sources and ensure your data is up-to-date.
    • Practice: Rehearse your presentation multiple times to ensure smooth delivery. Anticipate potential questions and prepare answers.
  4. Communication:

    • Confirm with the Interviewer: If possible, confirm the proposed timeline with the interviewer to ensure it aligns with their expectations. This shows professionalism and proactive communication.

By following these guidelines, you can set a suitable timeline for your VC interview case study presentation and make a strong impression. Good luck!
