VC Staff Accountant

I think I already know the answer to this, but here it goes. Looking to move into VC long term and threw my hat in the ring for a staff accountant role. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but figure it would be good place to get my feet wet and start networking in the industry. Although most of the work is obviously reporting based, there would be opportunities to work with the portfolio companies on special projects as well as raising capital. The problem is, I wouldn't actually get experience investing. I'm currently interested in getting an MBA in the next few years, but have a long term goal of VC. Should I pass? Or is this a good opportunity to move over to the investing side after a few years? I don't know how many people go from being in a finance role at a VC to an investing one, but I'd imagine it's small given that they are different skillsets. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

I'm stating the obvious, but no it is unlikely as n entry level staff accountant you will be able to transition in VC. Read up on the background VC firms look for and you'll understand. If you really want a chance try to align towards that profile.
