Venture Capital Fellowships / Internship

Hi, I'm currently a senior at a semi-target school. I have had previous experience in banking, private equity, and venture capital. I'm really interested in doing a fellowship either in the spring or winter. Are there any programs recommended to apply to right now? For some context, I'm heading to an elite boutique investment bank post-grad, but am interested in pursuing a career in VC post-banking. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey there! It sounds like you've got a solid background and a clear vision for your career path - kudos to you!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, there are a few things you might want to consider. Firstly, gaining startup experience can be valuable for VC/IB jobs. It's been mentioned that VCs appreciate startup experience, although it's not clear if an internship would be viewed the same as full-time work at a startup.

In terms of breaking into VC right out of undergrad, it's rare but not impossible. Having multiple VC internships and founding a startup can make a strong case, but it's still a matter of convincing a firm to hire someone straight out of undergrad. Some firms do have a traditional analyst class, but these positions are highly competitive.

As for specific programs, I'm afraid I don't have that information at hand. However, I'd recommend checking out the WSO Academy and the various resources it offers, such as the WSO Company Database and the WSO Virtual Bootcamps. These could provide valuable insights and potentially lead you to the right programs.

Remember, the journey into VC can be a challenging one, but with your experience and determination, I'm sure you'll find your way. Best of luck!
