Venture capital valuation
Hi all, I have a take-home case interview, analyzing the investment of a small start-up.
I have a bit of a question on:
- Valuation, hint on the growth rate is: basic growth & cost assumptions with narrative
does this mean I should take an average of their past sales growth? and how should I make assumptions on the cost if they also want to do international expansion?
discount rate, should I use open source to calculate a WACC (100 percent cost of capital no debt?)
- are there any good investment proposal resources online I could refer to when I make the slide?
tks.
The venture deals website or SVB can give you some basics to work with. Focus on GPM and revenue growth and capital invested to date when doing your valuation. Math is more simple than a typical enterprise valuation. Good luck.
