working with VC while PhD

Hi,

I have secured a fully funded admission in PhD in entrepreneurship/VC at one of the target schools (read Wharton/Harvard/INSEAD/LBS). I want to work closely with a VC fund. Is there a way I can work closely with them before starting my PhD. I have 0 experience in the domain and I have an engineering undergrads degree from a top Asian university.
