Introducing Myself / General Questions

I’m a teller at a credit union currently studying for the SIE exam. Graduated this year with a degree in English, so my financial knowledge is limited to what I’ve learned on the job and what I’ve studied in my own time. The goal is eventually to work in Wealth Management/Retirement Planning.

I guess I just want to know 1) if there are any transferrable skills from English to this field (besides communication), 2) what skills it’d behoove me to learn earlier rather than later, and 3) if anyone else majored in something practically useless/irrelevant to finance and might have some words of wisdom for a young boul. Cheers
