Hey all, the majority of us on this site are on the corporate grind. Some of us work 80 hour weeks, others work 50, and some are fortunate to work even less. Curious, if you could take the chips off the table and cash in, in a sense… how much would you want to make / year through your 40’s if on the flip side you could be guaranteed to work max 40 hour work weeks in a low stress environment. Assuming a decently ramped scale to that level, and pretty much maxed there apart from yearly raises for inflation..

There's a ton of these jobs at banks. They're just not in areas that are glamorous by the standards of this message board.

This is completely false- know plenty of senior folks in finance that make millions working 20 hour weeks. Just doesn’t happen in IB/PE.
Long Only Asset Management does. Am living proof. Won't make quite that much this year, but my superior makes more than double that and works ~40-45 hours/week. He's 43
Some of the big AM shops offer insane comp/work ratio. PMs at a big fund make shit loads of money to essentially track an index- know a guy who runs a big fund and he maybe works 10 hours a week.
