Any fans of Instagram Finance Memes? (Arbitrage Andy, Litquidity, NYFB)

Wanted to see if there were any other fans of these finance instagram accounts on WSO. Absolutely hilarious posts on these accounts and there's a pretty dedicated community of 'FinMeme' accts on Instagram.

Lmk if there are any hardos out here on wso who love their deal sleds and short the vix

People don't really go on Instagram looking for WSO / career posts. Like you said, I think posting entertainment would be a better direction. Memes get shared all the time and there's an "in the finance club effect" where people tagging each other in finance memes makes them feel smarter / more prestigious so they're more likely to tag their friends in the memes then some discussion about careers.

More memes with the occasional WSO plug to a good / lighthearted discussion aimed at young people such as the "How to avoid being a bad intern" etc.

I agree. Definitely have to play to a younger audience but it's difficult to toe the line of maintaining credibility. The funnier satire type posts here could be highlighted. Maybe pointing out articles that defy normal finance convention, screenshots of finance equations, or something along those lines. End of the day, you want to funnel people to the paid portion of your site. Whether you do that on ig or after they've visited your site is a WSO call.

While a lot of hilarious shit talking goes on here, this website as a whole is too serious because it's usually people asking for interview or modeling help.

I'm sure the people who run those meme pages are on this forum, though.

I don't understand Mrs. Dow Jones though. She's not anonymous. She never worked in finance and for some reason has a finance meme IG account? Then again, most of the content she posts has nothing to do with Finance. Anyway, I thought it was cool at first that a woman was running one of those meme accounts right up until I found out she is just some stupid blogger chick.

Andy, Lit, and NYFB are legitimately funny. These guys are damn near single-handedly boosting sales of JUULs and La Croix thanks to undergrad try-hards copying everything they do. I'm sure it's a pain in the ass making sure nobody figures out who you are though (the bank would rip your ass apart).
