Remote PE Internship: is this real?

Hi! I just got an offer for a summer analyst position at a boutique PE firm. But I just found out that it is remote (i have to work from my house, not even in the same city). Is this one of those BS internships where I probably won't do much (and therefore I should look elsewhere), or could there be value in this? Just looking for some opinions. Thank you!

I don't mean to be rude, but judging by your post history, I would seriously consider spending some time researching what this industry is. Again, I don't mean to be rude, but if you took the time to pour over the many helpful threads on WSO and the articles on M&I, you would understand that that an online IB internship makes absolutely no sense. While there are outsourced IB firms (e.g. firms that will prepare a CIM for you), banks do not go this route because as much money as the bank may save on the front end, they will lose on the back end through a lower quality product (i.e. the CIM in my example), which results in less bids, lost clients, etc. and defeats the initial purpose of trying to save money. Having an analyst on site is invaluable when it comes to modeling, putting together marketing materials, etc. I hope that helps. Good luck.
