Arrowroot Capital Employee Rention

Extremely interested in growth equity and came across Arroowroot in LA.  Looking through  Arrowroot's LinkedIn profiles and it seems most analysts are gone within a year, maybe 18 moths tops. The firm seems to hire bankers from lower tier banks and colleges for their assoctaes. Not to be a hardo, but wouldn't the firm want to retain its analyst talent. It does seem that A2A promoteions do seem to happen all the time at shops like JMI, Silversmoth, Lead Edge, amount others. Was just curious as to what the deal was with Arrowroot.

Apparently during Covid-19 two analyst left to Lead Edge and Accell-KKR, and the upper management became extremely self-conscious. Despite the fact that they were offering 80k all in Sr. Analyst comp roles to people who had received 250k+associates roles, the upper management was furious. Since then it seems that whatever culture the firm had has gone down the drain. I don't use the term dumpsterfire often, but when it applies, it applies.

Just looking at the portfolio, it seems that they have excited very few of their companies, some of which they have held for 7 plus years. Many of their exits they do have are to LMM PE shops which is definitely not the goal when you are investing $30MM in equity in start ups. Correct me if I'm wrong but how many growth shops sell to LMM PE at the same valuation they paid.

Yea if you participating in a 20 to 40 million dollar series B and C rounds and the company is being bought our for $6 mil to maybe %120 mill or even less as an add-on over a 7 year time horizon, your IRR and MOIC are probably bottom quartile if not more likely bottom decile. Just not a well thought out strategy IMHO. A dud is a dud no matter how much fancy marketing is sprinkled on it. Yes sexy offices in LA and Miami attracts some decent talent, but that does not change your return profile.

Not sure, but all posts that talk about arrowroot get taken down pretty quickly. I also interviewed with the person mentioned in the past and can confirm that dude is quite sus. advice would be to stay away
